Hazelnut Lake

The Hazelnut Lake is the twin-brother of Bear Lake: it was formed due to water flowing out of Bear Lake which flooded the salt well (pit), situated at a distance of 60 m west of it. The surface of Hazelnut Lake is 3670 m2, its greatest depth is 7 m. The temperature and salinity of its water is somewhat lower than that of the Bear Lake, its water being conducted by the Salty Valley (stream) to the Sovata Stream. The Lake shore nowadays is a modern beach, open every day in the summer high season.
